An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the St Vincent de Paul Society (SVP) as our new Head of Housing. This is a new role at the SVP and presents a fantastic challenge for an enthusiastic specialist to gradually develop our housing provision from an existing low base, enabling us to reach and support more people struggling to access decent and affordable accommodation.
The appointee will play a crucial role in formulating and delivering our housing strategy and overseeing the management of the existing hostel provision in Newcastle and our social housing (currently comprising 3 houses) in East Anglia. You will embed and promote a focused and strategic approach across the Society in any housing matters. We are looking for a talented individual who is passionate about bringing their skills to advance our work tackling poverty in all its forms and who has experience of housing provision, ideally in various forms. This is a new role within the organisation and presents an exciting challenge for someone to utilise their expertise to do good, whilst ensuring that our housing services are financially viable.
All of our work is firmly rooted in Catholic Social Teaching, with a particular emphasis on the preferential option for the poor. We are also proud of our rich Vincentian heritage and our mission of service to those in need. We are an inclusive and flexible employer committed to our staff.
