Depaul UK has worked for more than 30 years to support young people facing homelessness. We specialise in supporting 16–25-year-olds with access to housing, financial advice, education, employment and training opportunities, and the mental health support they may need to live full and independent lives.
We owe our inspiration to St Vincent de Paul, a major Catholic social reformer in 17th Century France. St Vincent devoted his life to helping vast numbers of poor, sick and homeless people across Europe during his lifetime.
Our Vision:
A society in which everyone, across the world, has a place to call home and a stake in their community.
Our Mission:
To end homelessness and change the lives of those affected by it.
Our Values:
- We celebrate the potential in people
- We put our words into action
- We take a wider role in civil society
- We believe in rights and responsibilities
How we help:
- Accommodation
Our Nightstop network of volunteer hosts across the country provide a safe place to stay for young people in crisis. Watch our video to find out more.
We also run supported accommodation services in London, the North East, and Manchester, including specialist services for young parents, unaccompanied asylum-seeking children and those with severe mental health problems; andwe offer specialist support to help young people live independently.
- Mediation and counselling
We provide family mediation to help mend broken relationships, one of the leading causes of youth homelessness; and we provide young people with the tools they need to create healthier relationships in the future.
We provide counselling to individuals and work with the carers of children and young people who often run away or go missing.
And in schools and colleges, we work with children and young people to build the knowledge, resilience and healthy relationships they need to ensure they never experience homelessness. As well as training their teachers to identify and support at-risk children.
- Education, Training and Employment
Every year we support hundreds of young people to access the education, employment and training opportunities they need to progress and thrive.
