Following a consultation process, the Archdiocese of Liverpool has confirmed its Families of Parishes.
The process started in November 2021 when the Pastoral Plan was launched. Deanery Synodal Councils were set up and tasked to propose local Families of Parishes.
“The Pastoral Plan calls for us to be bold and creative in finding new ways we can best serve the mission of the Church in our current situation,” the archdiocese said on its website.
“These proposed Families were put to Archbishop Malcolm McMahon and he promulgated them on March 2024.”
Fr Philip Inch, Episcopal Vicar for Pastoral Organisation and Synodal Implementation said: We owe a huge debt of thanks to the members of Deanery Synodal Councils.
“They have worked really hard to put together the suggested Families of Parishes. In some parts of the archdiocese this was not a difficult task – in others it has been far from easy.
“We say a big thank you for all the hard work that has been done.”
It has been suggested that in the next twelve month they undertake two very simple suggestions:
1.    Build relationships and develop communications.
2.    Decide on a project for each Family to undertake in the next 12 months.
