Long-established Christian travel specialist, McCabe Travel, has announced dozens of new departures for 2023, with tours as varied as Southern Indian churches, Christmas tours to Austria, pilgrimages to ancient biblical sites in Jordan and opera festivals in Italy.

This ambitious programme is a new venture for McCabe, best known for leading church groups on pilgrimages to the Holy Land. Whereas previously the majority of trips have been organised for members of specific churches or Christian societies, this new programme will be open to everyone.

We still welcome church groups to contact to organize their tours particularly to the Holy Land, Rome, Greece, Turkey, Jordan and Egypt.

“Post COVID, we have found our clients are eager to travel, and often wish to explore religious sites and biblical history beyond the Holy Land,” said McCabe Managing Director, Andrew Williams.

“More than 2,000 years of Christian history has left an indelible mark on Europe and beyond and there are profoundly spiritual places to be found all over the world – from Iona Abbey in the remote Western Isles of Scotland, to early Christian sites in the deserts of Egypt.”

The new tours are already proving popular, with departures to Cyprus, Italy, Austria and Scotland sold out for 2023.

Reverend Paul Ellerby, a McCabe director who has designed and led numerous pilgrimages added: “It is my firm belief that retreats and pilgrimages – Christians joining in the shared experience of a journey of faith – are more important than ever in this busy modern world. You do not have to be a fully signed church-goer to travel with McCabe, indeed, we find many of our participants view the tours as an opportunity to rediscover or deepen their faith.”
